Spring Hours

The Allan Macpherson House has now re opened for our Spring Hours. Hours of operation will be 10:00-4:00pm Tuesday to Saturday.The house is also available for tours and school programs on a daily basis Monday to Saturday. If you would like to book a school or a tour please call 613-354-5982 to arrange a visit or for more information.

Macpherson House Summer Camps

Allan Macpherson House & Park Summer Camps

Curiosity and excitement abound during the Macpherson’s House week-long summer camps.  Each week features different themes that explore the science, technology, and history. Campers aged 6-12 will join us for engaging and age-appropriate experiments, activities where we will explore nature and science through demonstrations, hands-on activities, and experiments in the museum and out in the field. Days will be filled with crafts, guest speakers, making friends, and plenty of FUN!

WK1-July 7th-11th Time Trekker

WK2 July 21st-25th Up, Up, & Away

WK3 August 11th -15th Nature in the City

WK4 August 25th -29th The Science of Daily Pioneer Life

Camps will run Monday-Friday 9-4pm Cost: $125.00 weekly $30.00 daily

Registration is required to confirm space.

Who Is Allan Macpherson?

Macpherson House was built on the banks of the Napanee River in c. 1826, when it was the first private home to the north of the river. It was the residence of Allan Macpherson, one of the most entrepreneurial and civic-minded citizens of early Napanee, with a finger in just about every pie.

Children's Summer Activity Days

Looking for something different, away from the TV, the video games, and the couch?

We have that for you!

Starting on Wednesday July 2 and running alternate to our camps Wednesday afternoons will be filled with fun and excitement. children will participate in historic crafts from 1-3 all summer long at Macpherson House.

Children will about the history of the Macphersons and how early pioneer children entertained themselves while taking part in historic activities like candle making, butter making, painting flower pots, tin plate pictures, paper making, yarn doll making, making home made ice cream as well as playing outdoor historic games. See below for 2014 schedule.

Snacks and Crafts will be offered every time. Ages 6-12 years. Children under 6 must be accompanied by a parent.

The cost is only $7 per child but please register your child in advance to ensure them a spot!  Please call ahead and make a reservation, 613-354-5982.
